Products are recalled every day and it’s important to stay up to date on those recalls in order to keep you and your loved ones safe. Below are a few recent recalls that may affect you.
Manhattan Toy Recalls Children’s Books
The recall involves “Find the Bear” soft fabric books due to choking hazard. The Manhattan Toy logo is printed on the sewn-in label on the side of the book. Lot code 208150AJ is printed on a separate label.
Lotus Foods Ramen Noodle Cups Recalled for Fire and Burn Hazards
A recall has been issued on Lotus Foods rice ramen noodle soup cups due to fire and burn hazards. As the recall states, “The paper soup cup’s labeling incorrectly instructs consumers to use the microwave for cooking, posing fire and burn hazards.” The recall involves about 239,000 of the ramen noodle soup cups. There have been 12 reports of the soup cups becoming extremely hot and/or sparking or catching fire during microwaving, including one report of a minor burn injury.
Kotex Tampons Recalled by Kimberly-Clark
Kimberly-Clark has issued a recall on Kotex tampons after reports of pieces left inside the body. The company received a number of complaints from people who said the tampons unraveled inside their bodies or came apart while removing them. According to Kimberly-Clark, a small number of people experienced infections, vaginal irritation, localized vaginal injury, and other symptoms.
White Rodgers Recalls Thermostats
The recall involves Emerson branded SensiWifi Thermostats with Emerson printed on the front and a date code from 1416 to 1536 on the back. Contact between the thermostat wires and household line voltage can damage the thermostat, posing a fire hazard.
The Company Store Recalls Children’s Robes
The Company Store’s 100% cotton children’s robes have been recalled for violation of federal flammability standards. The long sleeve-hooded robes should immediately be returned for a full refund.
FDA Recalls Third Blood Pressure Medication for Cancer Risk
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has recalled another blood pressure drug for a cancer risk. The administration recently recalled losartan potassium hydrochlorothiazide tablets because the medication could contain an impurity N-nitrosodiethylamine, a human carcinogen, according to the International Agency for Research on Cancer. This is the third blood pressure medication recently recalled by the FDA due to a cancer risk.
Kubota Recalls Zero Turn Mowers
The rollover protective structure on the mower can loosen and fail to protect the operator in a rollover accident, posing risk of injury. Consumers should immediately stop use and contact an authorized Kubota dealer for a free inspection and repair.
LÍLLÉbaby Recalls Baby Carriers for Fall Hazard
LÍLLÉbaby has issued a recall on Active Series baby carriers due to a fall hazard. “The sliding chest-clip strap can detach from the shoulder strap, posing a fall hazard to the child in the carrier,” states the recall. The carriers were available for sale at LILLEbaby.com and Amazon.com from September 2018 through October 2018. There have been three reports of the chest straps detaching from the carrier, including one child that fell out of the carrier, however, no injuries were reported.
