Products are recalled every day and it’s important to stay up to date on those recalls in order to keep you and your loved ones safe. Below are a few recent recalls that may affect you.
19 Recalled Products Were Sold at T.J. Maxx, Marshalls, HomeGoods
A number of recalled products have been found to still be sold at T.J. Maxx, Marshalls and HomeGoods after product recalls were announced. This includes 19 different products including infant sleepers, children’s clothing and furniture. According to the recall, “hazards include infant fatalities, fire, burn, choking, fall, laceration, skin irritation, explosion or other injuries depending on the product.”
EcoBoulder Speakers Recalled for Impact Hazard
Grace Digital has issued a recall on its ECOXGEAR EcoBoulder Speakers due to an impact hazard posed to consumers. As the recall states, the “speaker’s battery can become overcharged and burst, posing an impact hazard.” About 88,000 speakers are included in the recall. There have been five reports of speaker batteries bursting and fragmenting including two incidents of property damage to the surrounding area.
Stanley Black & Decker Recalls Wooden Handle Hammer
The molded grip on the hammer can come loose, posing an injury hazard. Model number STH51454 is etched under the Stanley logo on the hammer head. Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled hammers and return them to Walmart to receive a refund in the form of a Walmart gift card for the purchase price.
Bass Pro Recalls Mr. Steak Gas Grills Due to Fire Hazard
The gas regulator hose with attached fuel gauge can melt if it comes in contact with the bottom of the grill’s firebox, posing a fire hazard. Models MS-4B-PG, SKU 2472264 and MS-5B-PG, SKU 2472265 are included in the recall. Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled grills and contact MR. STEAK for a free repair kit.
Kenmore Elite Microwaves Recalled for Burn Hazard
Kenmore Elite Microwave Ovens have been recalled due to a burn hazard. According to the recall, “Incorrect wiring causes the microwave’s exterior to reach temperatures exceeding 183 degrees Fahrenheit, posing a burn hazard to the user.” The recalled microwaves were sold exclusively at Sears and Sears Hometown and Outlet Stores nationwide from May 2017 through July 2018.
Reports Says 100,000 Cars in Mississippi Still Contain Dangerous Airbags
A report indicates that 100,000 cars driven by Mississippi residents still contain dangerously defective airbags that could blast sharp metal fragments at drivers and passengers upon deployment. The U.S. Department of Transportation National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) states that the Takata airbag recall affects tens of millions of vehicles from 19 vehicle manufacturers and more than 200 models and model years. According to the recent report, about 43 percent of the affected cars in Mississippi remain unrepaired.
John Deere Recalls Utility Tractors for Injury Hazard
John Deere has issued a recall on John Deere 4044R, 4052R and 4066R compact utility tractors due to an injury hazard. “Front cab support bolts that were torqued improperly during manufacturing can fail during a rollover, posing a crushing injury hazard to the operator,” according to the recall. The recall includes 5,700 tractors that were sold at John Deere dealers in the United States and 1,650 sold in Canada from October 2016 through September 2019.
