Products are recalled every day and it’s important to stay up to date on those recalls in order to keep you and your loved ones safe. Below are a few recent recalls that may affect you.

Water Pik Toothbrushes Recalled for Issue With Charging Base

Water Pik, Inc. has issued a recall on Sonic-Fusion flossing toothbrushes due to a potential health risk posed to users. As stated in the recall, “the charging base may overheat with localized melting and sparking, possibly causing fire, shock or burns.” The company has received one report of an incident in which the charging base malfunctioned. No other Water Pik brand flossers and toothbrushes have been affected by the recall.

BMW G310R and 2018 G310GS motorcycles recalled

BMW of North America is recalling 2,376 model year 2017-2018 BMW G310R and 2018 BMW G310GS motorcycles. Over time, repeated use and loading of the side stand could cause damage to the side stand and the motorcycle’s frame. Damage to the side stand and/or frame may result in the motorcycle unexpectedly falling over while it is stationary, increasing the risk of injury.

Helmets R Us Recalls Rollerblade Helmets for Injury Hazard

Helmets R Us has issued a recall on Rollerblade helmets due to a risk of injury. As stated in the recall, “The helmets fail to meet the federal safety standard, posing a risk of head injury.” About 9,700 of the helmets have been included in the recall. They were sold to schools nationwide for use in physical education programs from September 2011 through April 2018. There have not been any reports of injuries or incidents in connection with the recall.

Smithfield Recalls Pepperoni Five Cheese Calzone

Smithfield Packaged Meats, doing business as Stefano Foods of Charlotte, N.C., is recalling approximately 24,048 pounds of pepperoni five cheese calzones. The product may be contaminated with extraneous materials — specifically pieces of hard, sharp, clear plastic. One consumer has reported suffering a small oral laceration while consuming the product.

Allura Recalls Children’s Sleepwear

Allura Imports of New York is recalling about 64,000 sets of children’s pajamas. The garments fail to meet the flammability standard for children’s sleepwear, posing a risk of burn injuries to children. No incidents or injuries have been reported.

Solco Healthcare Recalls Valsartan and Valsartan HCTZ Tablets

Solco Healthcare is recalling all lots of Valsartan tablets and Valsartan-Hydrochlorothiazide tablets, which are used for treatment of hypertension, or high blood pressure. A trace amount of an unexpected impurity — N-nitrosodimethylamine (NDMA) — was detected. NDMA has been classified as a probable human carcinogen as per International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) classification.
