Products are recalled every day and it’s important to stay up to date on those recalls in order to keep you and your loved ones safe. Below are a few recent recalls that may affect you.

Bodum Toasters Recalled for Shock Hazard Posed to Consumers

A recall has been issued on Bodum Bistro Toasters due to a shock hazard. As the recall states, “The recalled toasters can leak electric current when operating at the maximum normal temperature, posing a shock hazard to consumers.” While there have been no reports of incidents in the U.S., there have been eight reports of consumers being shocked in Canada. The toasters were sold at Crate & Barrel and home appliance stores nationwide and online at Amazon.com and other websites from September 2018 through June 2019.

Over 80 Hummus Products Recalled Over Listeria Risk

Texas-based Pita Pal Foods have been forced to recall more than 80 products produced between May 30 and June 25 after an FDA inspection revealed a potential Listeria risk. Impacted products were sold within the United States and the United Arab Emirates under brand names like Bucee’s, Fresh Thyme, Harris Teeter, Hummus Hummus, Lantana, Lidl, Pita Pal, Reasor’s, Roundy’s, Schnucks and 7-Select. Anybody who purchased one of these products during that time frame should return them to the place of purchase for a full refund.

Altaire Pharmaceuticals Recalls Ophthalmic Products Sold at CVS

Altaire Pharmaceuticals, Inc. has initiated a voluntary recall of Ophthalmic Products sold at CVS due to a lack of sterility assurance. The recall was issued following management concerns regarding the sufficiency of Quality Assurance controls over critical systems in the manufacturing facility. The recall is being conducted with the knowledge of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

Flower Foods Issues Recall Due to Potential Presence of Plastic in Bakery Products

Flowers Foods has issued a recall on hamburger and hot dog buns and other bakery products due to the potential presence of small pieces of hard plastic in the products. The company reports that consumption of the recalled products may cause a choking hazard. The recalled bakery products, sold under a variety of brand names, were distributed in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Missouri, Mississippi, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and West Virginia.

Select varieties of Ragú Pasta Sauce recalled

Several varieties have been recalled as they may contain fragments of plastic. Recalled flavors include Chunky Tomato Garlic & Onion 45oz and 66oz, Old World Style Traditional 66oz, Old World Style Meat 66oz. Consumers should discard the product immediately. Mazda Recalls CX-5, Mazda6, and Mazda3

262,220 Mazdas have been recalled due to a software error in the powertrain control module (CPM). This error may cause the engine to stall, posing a crash risk. Mazda will notify owners, dealers will reprogram the software free of charge.

Universal Security Instruments Recalls Smoke Alarms

180,000 battery-powered smoke alarms have been recalled. The alarms can have a misaligned internal switch causing the alarms to not activate properly, posing a risk of failure to alert. The company has received 134 reports of failure to activate properly during installation. Consumers should immediately test their alarms to see if further action is required.

BRP Recalls Coolers

2,500 BRP Sea-Doo marine coolers have been recalled. The cooler latch can automatically lock when the lidis closed, posing entrapment and suffocation hazards. This recall involves 13.5 gallon and 51 liter marine coolers.
