June Recall Update

At McCoy, Hiestand & Smith we value the health and safety of everyone in our community. Sometimes regardless of how careful we are the products we buy aren’t as safe as we had hoped.

Products are recalled every day and it’s important to stay up to date on those recalls in order to keep you and your loved ones safe. Below are a few recent recalls that may affect you.

Kroger Recalls Select Frozen Private Selection BerriesJune ’19 Recall Udpate

Private Selection Berries manufactured by Townsend Farms have been recalled due to possible Hepatitis A contamination.

June ’19 Recall UdpateSubaru Recalls 2019 Crosstreks

The driver’s side rear-door window glass may be improperly tempered and can shatter into large pieces, increasing the risk of injury. Subaru will notify owners and dealers  will replace the glass free of charge.

Hometown Food Company Recalls Pillsbury Best Bread FlourJune ’19 Recall Udpate

Two specific lots have been recalled due to possible E. coli contamination.

Xtreme Outdoor Products Recalls Climbing Sticks

The climbing sticks can break due to a bolt failure on the center step, posing a fall hazard and risk of serious injury. This recall involves XOP climbing sticks used to climb trees. The climbing sticks have XOP and model number XOP-LMO4-SR June ’19 Recall Udpateprinted on the box and were sold in sand ripple green color in a 4-pack. Two injuries have been reported. Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled climbing sticks and return them to Xtreme Outdoor Products (XOP) for a full refund or refund in the form of a store credit.

Apple Recalls Three-Prong Wall Plug AdaptersJune ’19 Recall Udpate

About 895,000 Apple AC World Travel Adapter Kits have been recalled. The adapters can break and expose the metal portion, posing an electric shock risk. Consumers should immediately stop use and contact apple for a free replacement.

Cargill Expands Southern States Feed Recall

The products contain levels of aflatoxin that exceed the FDA’s action levels. Livestock, horses, and poultry exposed to elevated levels of aflatoxin are at risk of several health effects. Click here for the full list of recalled feed products.

Target Recalls USB Charging CablesJune ’19 Recall Udpate

90,000 heyday 3 foot lightning USB charging cables have been recalled as the metal around the cord can become electrically charged posing shock and fire hazards. There have been 14 reports of cables smoking, sparking, or igniting. The metal charging cable is purple, green and blue iridescent, with model number 080 08 8261 printed on the side of the packaging. Consumers should immediately stop use of the product and return it to Target for a full refund.

Monocytogenes Found in Nature’s Touch Frozen Foods

A recall has been issued Nature’s Touch Signature Select Avocado Chunks due to a potential Listeria monocytogenes contamination. The recall was initiated after the FDA found Listeria monocytogenes in one sample package of the product. The company states that there have been no reported illnesses associated with the product that is the subject of the precautionary recall.

June ’19 Recall UdpateFrito-Lay Recalls Lightly Salted Barbeque Flavored Potato Chips

The product may contain milk, an allergen not declared on the label.  The recalled products have both a “Guaranteed Fresh” date of 27 AUG 2019 and a nine-character manufacturing code that includes the numbers “29” in the second and third position (example: x29xxxxxx) listed below the “Guaranteed Fresh” date.
