There are wonderful charities throughout Kentucky working to help people from all walks of life. Whether through acts of service, participation or simply a financial contribution these charities need YOUR help! Sometimes it can seem overwhelming to decide which charity to donate to, so we will be compiling a list every month of fun upcoming charity events to help guide you in the right direction.

Pups & Pints

Thursday, October 24 @ Pizza Bar Louisville 6PM

Pizza Bar is partnering monthly with the Kentucky Humane Society for Pups & Pints where 15% of proceeds and all donations will benefit KHS. Enjoy a pet costume contest, prizes, music, food, and playtime with adoptable dogs. Visit their event page for more information.

Walk4Hearing

Saturday, November 2 @ Beckley Creek Park 8:30AM

Taking place in multiple cities across the United States, the Walk4Hearing is the largest walk promoting hearing health across the country. With more than $14 million raised to fund national and local programs, the Walk4hearing is dedicated to supporting all those with hearing loss and helping them live better. Click here for details.

Aspiring Hope Masquerade Fundraiser

Saturday, November 2 @ Guthrie Opportunity Center 7PM

A night of fun with live music and a silent auction. All proceeds benefit Aspiring Hope, a nonprofit organization that enhances its local communities by supporting individuals in need. They provide assistance to those affected by a serious medical illness or who have been economically/financially deprived. Visit their event page for ticket information.

Turkey Bowl

Saturday, November 9 @ Save-A-Lot 10AM

It’s time for another Turkey Bowl! PLG in partnership with Save-a-Lot host this event each year to support the Nelson County Backpack Program! Teams of four will take turns bowling frozen turkeys at real bowling pins. Click here for registration info.

Festival of Trees & Lights

Friday, November 15 – Sunday, November 17 @ Louisville Slugger Field 10AM

Start a holiday tradition with your family at the 30th annual Festival of Trees & Lights. Marvel at the hundreds of beautifully decorated trees, wreaths and décor — all of which are for sale to raise funds for Norton Children’s Hospital. Visit their events page for details.

Samaritan’s Purse Packing Party

Friday, November 15 @ Park Louisville 5PM

Park Louisville by Senior Star will be collecting donations once again for shoe boxes filled with gifts for children in need around the world! They will be accepting donations October 15th – November 22nd any time between the hours of 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday. A Packing Party will be held on the 15th to pack up all the gifts for Samaritan’s Purse. Samaritan’s Purse is an organization that provides Christmas gifts to underprivileged children around the world as part of Christian missionary work. Click here for more information.

Veterans Yoga Project

Saturday, November 16 @ Lotus Counseling & Wellness Center 2PM

Debi Baldwin, Air Force retired veteran, RYT-200, and Veterans Yoga Project Certified Instructor, will be leading this beginner-friendly Hatha class open to EVERYONE! Roll out your mat in support of recovery and resilience among our Veterans, families, and communities during Veterans Gratitude Week with Veterans Yoga Project, a national 501(c)3 dedicating to supporting veterans.  A benefit class is being held to express gratitude for our freedom and honor those who served in the United States Armed Forces.
