There are wonderful charities throughout Kentucky working to help people from all walks of life. Whether through acts of service, participation or simply a financial contribution these charities need YOUR help! Sometimes it can seem overwhelming to decide which charity to donate to, so we will be compiling a list every month of fun upcoming charity events to help guide you in the right direction.

 

Opal’s Dream Golf Scramble

Friday, June 29 @ Elizabethtown Country Club 8AM

Hit the golf course in support of Opal’s Dream Foundation. ODF works in senior care facilities to improve quality of life. From items as small as a new blanket to an uplifting trip to the zoo, Opal’s Dream is to support the forgotten.

 

Flags Ride & Freedom Fest

Saturday, June 30 @ Bluegrass Harley Davidson 8:30AM -7PM

USA Cares flag ride is back and better than ever! Live music by the Louisville Crashers, vendors, food, and cold beer will make this a fun event. Visit USA Cares event site for more info.

 

Relay for Life of Nelson County

Saturday, June 30 @ Nelson County Fairgrounds 4PM

Celebrate the survivors! Donations from this event will help fund cancer research and patient care programs. For more information visit the event page.

 

Lou City Supports Second Chances

Saturday, June 30 @ Louisville Slugger Field

Cocktails & Conservation: Forecastle Foundation Concert Series

Thursday, July 5 @ Butchertown Grocery 7PM

Get a sneak peak at this year’s festival performers along with a silent auction and a special menu of chef Bobby Benjamin’s favorite foods. Proceeds will benefit the Forecastle Foundation. Click here for more info.

Horsepower for Heroes

Saturday, July 14 @ Kentucky Exposition Center 5PM

Jeffersontown Police Department along with Kentucky Sports Car Club is hosting an autocross event to benefit Kentucky Wounded Heroes. This will be a time trial race with a single patrol car. Email astrange@jtownkypd.orgfor more info.

 

 

Kick Back Tuesday: St. Vincent de Paul

Tuesday, July 17 @ Falls City Brewing Co. 4PM

$1 from every beer sold will be donated to St. Vincent de Paul in an effort to end homelessness in Louisville.

 

Project School Supply

Friday, July 20 @ Bardstown Walmart 8:30AM – 6PM

Bring donations of school supplies, gift cards, checks, or cash to help fill a school bus with supplies for area schools! Help ensure that no child has to start school without the tools they need to be successful.

 

Make-A-Wish Day

Tuesday, July 24 @ Louisville Slugger Field 7PM

Enjoy watching the Louisville Bats take on the Buffalo Bisons. Throughout the evening wish kids will participate in special events in the stadium, including throwing the first pitch, on field activities and sharing their stories. 100 free tickets are available now!
