Products are recalled every day and it’s important to stay up to date on those recalls in order to keep you and your loved ones safe. Below are a few recent recalls that may affect you.

Harbor Freight Recalls Handgun Safes Due to Serious Injury Hazard
Harbor Freight Recall

“The handgun safes can open without the use of a key or combination upon impact and allow unintended access to the contents of the safe, posing a risk of serious injury to children and others,” the recall states. About 25,000 of the handgun safes are included in the recall. The safes were sold at Harbor Freight Tools stores nationwide and online at www.harborfreight.com from November 2014 through February 2018. There have not been any injuries or incidents reported in connection with the recall.

Recall Issued for Hill Topper Electric Bike Motor

Hill Topper Motor RecallA recall has been issued for Hill Topper Electric Bike motor controller circuit board due to crash and injury hazards. “Water can enter the motor controller and cause it to accelerate on its own, posing a crash and injury hazard to the rider,” states the recall. The products were sold at Hill Topper’s Seattle store and online at www.electric-bike-kit.com from January 2017 through June 2018. There have been six reports of a rider losing control of his bike when the motor accelerated without rider input, including one report of minor injuries.

Vitamix Recall

Vitamix Recalls Ascent and Venturist Series Blending Containers

Vita-Mix Corporation of Cleveland, Ohio, is recalling about 110,000 Ascent and Venturist series 8-oz., and 20-oz., blending containers sold in the U.S. and Canada. The containers can separate from the blade’s base exposing the blades, posing a laceration hazard to consumers. The company has received 11 reports of lacerations when consumers’ hands came in contact with exposed blades. Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled blending containers and contact Vitamix for a free repair kit. Vitamix is sending repair kits to consumers it can identify.

CVS Sinus Relief RecallCVS Health 12 Hour Sinus Relief Nasal Mist Recalled

Product Quest Manufacturing is recalling Lot# 173089J of CVS Health 12 Hour Sinus Relief Nasal Mist, a clear, colorless liquid. The product was found to have had microbiological contamination identified as Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Repetitive use of a nasal spray containing a gram-negative pathogen can potentially lead to colonization and subsequent infection which can be life threatening in certain consumers, such as those with cystic fibrosis or immuno-compromised. 

Yamaha Recalls MT and XSR Series MotorcyclesYamaha Bike Recall

Yamaha Motor Corporation, USA is recalling 3,493 model year 2018 Yamaha MT-07J, MT-07JC, XSR700J, and XSR700JC motorcycles. The bolts that connect the drive chain guard to the swingarm may loosen, possibly causing the chain guard to contact the drive chain and break.

Hostess Recalls Cookies ‘n Creme Brownies

The snacks have been recalled due to contained egg, an allergen not declared on the label.

Pressure Cooker RecallRena Ware Recalls Nutrex Pressure Cookers

The recalled pressure cookers can discharge steam at lower pressures than intended, posing a burn hazard to consumers. The firm has received 13 reports of unintended depressurization, including five reported burn injuries.

Vanilla Almond Breeze Almond Milk RecalledVanilla Breeze Almond Milk Recall

HP Hood is recalling half gallon cartons of refrigerated Vanilla Almond Breeze almond milk. The product may contain milk, an allergen not declared on the label.

ADM Animal Nutrition Recalls Mintrate 36-15 Breed Right Cattle Feed

The product may contain elevated levels of non-protein nitrogen, excessive levels of which can be toxic to cattle. This can cause muscle tremors (especially of face and ears), abdominal pain, bloat, frothy salivation, excessive urination, teeth grinding, incoordination, weakness, shortness of breath and possible death.
