There are wonderful charities throughout Kentucky working to help people from all walks of life. Whether through acts of service, participation or simply a financial contribution these charities need YOUR help! Sometimes it can seem overwhelming to decide which charity to donate to, so we will be compiling a list every month of fun upcoming charity events to help guide you in the right direction.

Christmas Feeding Bullitt Co Homeless

Friday, December 21 @ Paroquet Springs Conference Center 5PM

This is an event to VOLUNTEER AND/OR DONATE to help those less fortunate. Christmas is a special time of year for everyone but it is also brings a lot of challenges for many families and the homeless. Currently a number of groups throughout Bullitt County are making a huge difference for the HOMELESS and impoverished in this county.

Elfapalooza

Friday, December 21 @ Galt House Hotel 6PM

Admission is free with a suggested donation of a new toy. No reservations needed. After riding the Peppermint Express, kids enjoy cookies, popcorn and a hot chocolate bar. The kids cuddle up to a screening of a Christmas movie – “Elf” with Will Ferrell on Friday nights and “The Polar Express” on Saturday nights. Mom and dad can take advantage of the cash bar stocked with “adult” beverages.

New Year’s Eve Casino Night

Monday, December 31 @ St. Dominic Elementary School 7PM

This is a community event open to everyone 21 and over. We will have gaming tables and horse racing for you to wager on. Advanced Tickets are $25 or $30 at the door. Click here for more information.

8thAnnual Horizons for Youth Bowl-a-Thon

Saturday, January 5 @ Timber Lanes Bowling Alley 2PM

Continue ringing in the New Year by dusting off your bowling shoes and joining Horizons for Youth for their 8th Annual Horizons for Youth Bowl-a-Thon! Tickets include team bowling, unlimited beer and wine, food and fun competition. There will also be a raffle for two tickets to their annual gala, On Cloud Nine.

5thAnnual Yoga Mala for Africa

Sunday, January 6 @ Muhammad Ali Center 1PM

Instructors from around the Louisville area, representing different studios and styles of yoga, will be joining together to guide our community through 108 sun salutations. This will be a unique experience and an opportunity for Louisville’s yoga community to come together and give back. This experience will be accessible to everyone regardless of age or experience. All proceeds will benefit the Africa Yoga Project.

Veteran’s Career & Education Expo

Wednesday, January 16 @ The Jeffersonian 10AM

This free event is in conjunction with the Department for Veteran Affairs, the Kentucky Department of Veteran Affairs, Soldier for Life Transition Assistance Program, and the Army Reserve P3 program.

B3 Bash

Saturday, January 19 @ The Regency 6PM

It’s time for Bacon, Bourbon, & Beer! Tickets for this great event benefitting Kosair Charities can be purchased at www.B3Bash.com
