At McCoy, Hiestand & Smith we value the health and safety of everyone in our community. Sometimes regardless of how careful we are the products we buy aren’t as safe as we had hoped.

Products are recalled every day and it’s important to stay up to date on those recalls in order to keep you and your loved ones safe. Below are a few recent recalls that may affect you.

Recall Issued on DIANA Air Rifles That Can Unexpectedly Discharge

September ’19 Recall UpdateA recall has been issued on DIANA Stormrider Gen 2 Air Rifles due to a risk of injury and death. The recall states, “The air rifle can unexpectedly discharge even if the safety is engaged. This can result in a serious injury or death.” The rifles were sold at Pyramyd Air, Air Gun Depot, and other air rifle retailers nationwide and online at Amazon.com, PyramydAir.com and AirGunDepot.com from July 2018 through June 2019. There has been one incident report, but no reports of injuries.

John Deere Recalls Gator Utility Vehicles

The plastic sheathing on the throttle cable can melt due to improper routing, causing the throttle to stick. This could result in a crash hazard. John Deere XUV835 Gator utility vehicles were sold in the U.S. and Canada nationwide from November 2017 to July 2019.

Consumers should immediately stop use and contact an authorized dealer for free inspection and repair.

September ’19 Recall UpdateQuickStand Workstations Recalled for Injury Hazard, 12 Injuries Reported

Humanscale has issued a recall on QuickStand Lite workstations due to an injury hazard. As the recall states, “The recalled workstation’s arm can break and cause the workstation to fall, posing a risk of injury.” About 22,700 of the workstations are included in the recall in the U.S. There have been 52 reports of the arm breaking, including 12 reports of minor injuries from the arm breaking and falling on consumers.

Kirkland’s Chest of Drawers Recalled for Tip-Over, Entrapment HazardsSeptember ’19 Recall Update

A recall has been issued on Kirkland-brand chests of drawers due to tip-over and entrapment hazards. The recall applies to Kirkland’s Black Wash Mirrored Chests and Six-Drawer Camille Chests. As stated in the recall, “The recalled chests are unstable if they are not anchored to the wall, posing serious tip-over and entrapment hazards that can result in death or injuries to children.” Further, the drawers “do not comply with the performance requirements of the U.S. voluntary industry standard.” There have been no reports of injuries to date.

September ’19 Recall UpdateGeneral Mills Recalls Gold Medal Flour

5lb bags of Gold Medal Unbleached All Purpose Flour may be contaminated with E.coli O26. The product should be discarded immediately.

Walker Edison Furniture Recalls Bunk BedsSeptember ’19 Recall Update

1,200 children’s bunk beds have been recalled as the support boards can break, posing an injury hazard. While no injuries have been reported, there have been two incidents of the support breaking. The bunk beds were sold online at Overstock.com, Pier1.com, Target.com, Walmart.com, and Wayfair.com for about $650. Consumers should immediately stop use of the product and contact Walker Edison Furniture for a replacement.

September ’19 Recall UpdateHealing Solutions Recalls Essential Oils

32,000 bottles of Healing Solutions Wintergreen and Birch essential oils have been recalled because they are not child resistant as required by the Poison Prevention Packaging Act. This recall include all 10, 30, and 60 milliliter amber glass bottles of wintergreen and birch essential oils sold prior to April 15, 2019. The oils were sold online at eBay.com Amazon.com, and Walmart.com for between $10 and $23. Consumers should contact Healing Solutions for a free replacement child-resistant cap.
