There are wonderful charities throughout Kentucky working to help people from all walks of life. Whether through acts of service, participation or simply a financial contribution these charities need YOUR help! Sometimes it can seem overwhelming to decide which charity to donate to, so we will be compiling a list every month of fun upcoming charity events to help guide you in the right direction.

Project Pet – Barktown Rescue

Thursday, July 26th@ Pinot’s Palette 7PM

Paint your pet at Pinot’s Palette! 20% of seats sold for our July Project Pet will go to Barktown Rescue. Must be 18+ to attend. Registration closes on Wednesday, July 11th, so make sure to purchase your seat before then!! Click here to register.

Float-a-Thon for the Cure

Friday, July 27th@ Awesome Lazy River 10AM

Float down the river in a single tube, enjoy pizza and give back. Must sign a waiver, no children under the age of 6.

PurpleStride 5K Louisville

PurpleStride walks are among the largest sources of funding for the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network. When you Wage Hope at PurpleStride, you join a vibrant community of survivors, impacted families, loved ones, researchers and advocates committed to rewriting the future of this deadly disease. Spike It to Cancer

Saturday, August 11th@ Baxter Jacks 8AM

Benefitting the Mary Jane Gift Quality of Life Fund. Cash prize donated by the Power Agency, will be a record $5,000! With $4,000 going to the winning Coed Quad team and $1,000 going to the runner up (none of these funds will be coming out of funds raised at the event). Please register as a spectator or your Coed Quad Open Division team (2 male/2 female).

Party for A Purpose

Back by popular demand this event allows our golfers, their families and community supporters of Big Brothers Big Sisters to gather and Party For A Purpose. For the second year, this event is being held at RecBar and will feature a silent and live auction, delicious appetizers & local celebrities! Click here for more info.

BCS/NCS Crusade for Children 5k

Saturday, August 18th@ Bardstown Board of Education 8AM

The top male and female runner will receive a commemorative WHAS Crusade for Children 5K barrel head provided by Red Leg Woodworking. To be guaranteed a shirt, registration needs to be completed by August 3rd! Click here to register.

Gettin’ Puggy in Kentuggy – Tiki Edition

Saturday, August 18th@ Block Party Handmade Boutique 12PM

Artist/Cartoonist/Writer/Illustrator Gemma Correll will be on site for a meet and greet and signing autographs on exclusive art prints and merchandise. She will also be auctioning off custom portraits. There will be a pug and pet themed art show curated by Gemma featuring artists: Jared Schorr, Evie Yapelli Show Pigeon, Aya Kakeda, Gretchen Lewis, Angela Oster, Anke Weckmann, Lyndi Lou, and Adrian Wright. A portion of all sales and 100% of all raffle and auction proceeds will benefit the Bluegrass Pug Rescue.

Men, dig deep in your wardrobe to find your skinny tie and best Don Draper look. Ladies, channel your inner Jackie O and whip out your most elaborate costume jewelry and white gloves as we take a step back in time to the early 60’s and host the ultimate mid-century modern cocktail party! Over 20 distilleries lined up, each with their own twist on classic cocktails and tastings. Proceeds benefit Coalition for the Homeless.
